Ward Memorial Hospital originally opened its doors in 1956.  The building they are in now was constructed in 1980 after the tornado in 1977 demolished the west wing. 

The hospital is licensed with the Texas Department of Health for 25 beds.  They are certified by the State of Texas as a Level IV Trauma Center. 

The hospital provides a wide range of services.  They have emergency room service around the clock and a hospital based EMS with ambulance service.  They provide state of the art diagnostics in laboratory, radiology, respiratory, rehabilitation and physical therapy.  The hospital also offers a Swing Bed Program.
