The Planning & Zoning Board of Adjustments consist of 5 members appointed by City Council to serve a two year term. The board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to planning the development of the city and zoning regulations to protect the integrity of the community while enforcing state and city ordinances. The board was created for the purpose of interpreting or modifying zoning regulations in particular cases and approving variances to building setbacks and special exceptions to other ordinances as circumstances may require.

Anyone needing to bring a Variance or Rezoning request before the board will need to fill out an application at City Hall. Our staff will place the item on the next agenda after the application, fee and any extra documentation requested is received. Depending on the item being brought before the board a meeting with the Building Inspector may be required before the application process is finished.
The Planning & Zoning Board of Adjustments meets on an as needed basis and agendas are posted at City Hall 72 hours prior to each meeting.
