Hill Park
Monahans has the perfect desert like climate with low humidity and short winters so you can enjoy more of the outdoor activities. The city has five public parks offering picnic tables, outdoor grills, playground equipment, covered pavilions and shade trees for enjoying family fun. You can enjoy playing at the aquatic park or swimming in nearby pools within Ward County. The city has athletic fields that provide summer time activities for the youth with baseball, softball and soccer. The Sandhills State Park offers almost 4000 acres of dunes for sandsurfing, picnic tables and outdoor grills. There is also a museum and nature trails to enjoy. The Ward County Golf Course is an eighteen-hole course with a full service Pro Shop. The course can be challenging to both the novice and the advanced player. You can also enjoy an afternoon of bank fishing with your rod and reel at Perch Pond. The pond is stocked with trout, catfish, bass, crappie, perch and carp.
