The Street Service & Repair Department is responsible for the management, maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, alleys, curbs, gutters, storm sewers, drainage channels, street signs and pavement markings within the city limits of Monahans. They provide maintenance and respond to citizen inquiries for city roadways in a timely, cost-effective, polite and responsible manner.
They maintain the streets by making sure:
- Streets are swept
- Traffic signs and Street signs maintained
- Pavement repaired
- Seal coating
- Pavement marking school zones, turn lanes, striping
- Maintaining and repairing storm water drainage system
Broken limbs, hidden signs, potholes, or unmarked streets can all be safety hazards. Please report any problems with your street to City Hall at (432) 943-4343. All concerns will be handled as quickly as possible.
The street department is also responsible for the mowing and upkeep of all the city parks, street right of ways and other city owned properties. They strive to make Monahans a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone to live.
