Fire & Rescue Department

The Monahans Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for providing fire protection, rescue, inspection and investigation services for the City of Monahans, Ward County and the surrounding areas.  The Department is financed through a cooperative effort between Monahans and Ward County.  The departments goal is to reduce and prevent the loss of life and to minimize the damage to property and the environment resulting from fires.

Monahans has earned a Property Protection Class Rating of 5 from the State of Texas, which was earned by the expansion of the water system, the purchase of firefighting equipment and the training of the firemen.  The department is committed to maintaining a highly skilled and trained department to meet the needs of our community and firefighter personnel.

 

 
The department is made up of:
  • Fire Chief - Randy Crabtree
  • Assistant Fire Chief - John Bell
  • 1st Captain - Cody Jimenez
  • 2nd Captain - Ben McGilvray
  • 3rd Captain - Roy Bean
  • 4th Captain - Josh Smith
  • Safety Officer - Aaron Higgs
  • 43 Volunteer Fire Fighters

 

 

 

City Ordinances prohibit burning trash within the city limits. The Volunteer Fire Department has their weekly meeting every Monday at 7:00pm at 114 W. 2nd in Monahans.  The Fire Department is located at 114 W. 2nd Street.  You can reach the Fire Department at (432) 943-2211 or (432) 943-3254.
