Fire & Rescue Department

The Monahans Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection for the City of Monahans, Ward County and the surrounding areas.  The MVFD is financed through a cooperative effort between Monahans and Ward County.  The departments goal is to reduce and prevent the loss of life and to minimize the damage to property and the environment resulting from fires.

Monahans has earned a property protection class rating of 5 from the State of Texas, which was earned by the expansion of the water system, the purchase of firefighting equipment and the training of the firemen.  The department is committed to maintaining a highly skilled and trained department to meet the needs of our community and firefighter personnel.

 

The department is made up of:

  • 43 Volunteer Fire Fighters

 

The Volunteer Fire Department meets weekly on Monday at 7:00pm at 114 W. 2nd in Monahans.
